Primary 5 had a wonderful day at the Ulster American Folk Park today, with their P5 friends from Cumber Claudy PS. We learnt a lot about homes in Ireland in the 1800s and how people made a living from farming and spinning yarn. We loved visiting the blacksmith and the school house, and we tasted freshly baked scone bread. We also travelled to America and discovered the ‘new world’, as many Irish emigrants did in famine times. It was all so much fun!
