Return to School - Additional Information

4th Mar 2021

As you know, Primary 1, 2 and 3 pupils return to school on Monday 8th March for two weeks, with one school closure day for St. Patrick's Day on March 17th.

Buses will operate as usual in the morning and at 2pm and 3pm. (Cost of the 2pm bus remains £2 per pupil per day.) Pupils must not come to school before 8.45am. Primary 1 and 2 pupils can be collected from the small playground at 2pm and Primary 3 pupils can be collected at 2.45pm (as before).

Canteen facilities will operate from Monday 8th March. All Primary 1,2 and 3 pupils can avail of this service. Pupils entitled to free school meals will receive them in school and other pupils can purchase dinner at a cost of £2.60 as usual.

Vulnerable children and children of key-workers from P4-7 are encouraged to continue with packed lunches as direct payments continue to be made to these families who are entitled to free school meals. However, all P4-7 children are permitted to purchase dinner if they wish. (P4-7 pupils entitled to free school meals still have to pay for their dinner as their parents are receiving direct payments).

Milk will be available to P1, 2 and 3 children who usually took milk each day. Cost is £2.50 for the 2 weeks.

Pupils must not attend school if they have any of the symptoms of COVID 19:

(1) A new, continuous cough

(2) A high temperature/fever

(3) A loss or change in sense of taste or smell

Parents must report the reason for absence to reception so that pupil attendance is correctly coded.

Parents must remain socially distanced when dropping off and collecting pupils and must wear face masks on entering the reception area. Pupils are encouraged to wear face coverings on bus transport as before.

Miss Kealey, Miss McKinney and all our staff are really looking forward to seeing Primary 1, 2 and 3 pupils on Monday morning! Of course, we wish that all our pupils were returning at once but we are very proud of our P4,5, 6 and 7 pupils for their fabulous commitment to remote learning and we hope that we will have everyone back as soon as possible!

If you have any other queries, please contact school reception. Thank you.
