EA Literacy Service Website

We would like to recommend use of the EA Literacy Service's new website:  www.eani.org.uk/services/pupil-support-services/literacy-service

Parents can use this site to access some support materials for their children while at home. Please see below for the content that is available:

·     Reading –  ‘Ideas for Parents to Support Reading’ is very concise, easy to follow and informative for parents.

Apps for younger children we can recommend – Oxford Owl, Teach your Monster to Read, Nessy (free trials offered periodically) Starfall ( for P3, 4, 5 pupils)

Apps for upper KS2 – Audible, David Walliams, First News, C2K Newsdesk (P6/7 pupils)

 

·         Writing – Handwriting and letter formation sections of ‘Ideas for Parents to Support Writing.' These are useful for parents/carers to concentrate on at home with their children.

 

·         Spelling – ‘Ideas for Parents to Support Spelling’ contains very good ideas for parents and useful tips for parents/carers. Spelling Apps for younger children such as ABCya

·         Assistive Technology and encouragement of Touch Typing using websites such as BBC DanceMat.
