Well done to the many boys and girls who received certificates and awards today to mark the end of the academic year.
Many pupils achieved certificates for their excellent attendance this year (97%+) and some pupils achieved many years of high attendance in a row, which was wonderful.
Other pupils received Accelerated Reading certificates for wonderful dedication to reading- one P6 pupil was awarded for achieving millionaire status and another for achieving 100 points. A third pupil, who is in Primary One, got special recognition for his fabulous ability to read books and complete quizzes in AR which is a remarkable achievement!
Finally, lots of hard-working pupils received lovely vouchers for achieving Emerald, Diamond, Epic or Legend status in Mathletics. Their prizes ranged from free ice-creams, milk-shakes, Kids’ Meals and even £5 notes! Many thanks to Vivo Park and Burke’s Takeaway for their support in this initiative and to our PTA for funding these prizes.
Finally, some pupils showed us their awards for fabulous achievements outside school, in physical challenges, hurling and Gaelic. Well done everyone!
School closes at 12 noon on Monday 30th June and reopens on Monday 1st September. Thanks to everyone who supported our staff and pupils this year. Have a safe, happy and restful summer holiday!
